Hey guys,

this is my first post, and i'm hoping you can give me abit of help.

I have recently bought a 94 6gc. It is a UK GT spec, with the 3sge engine. But it has a problem, well actually it has a few problems but i'll ask about those in due course.

Usually when the engine is cold, it will sometimes drop down in revs, sometimes to the point of stalling, but mostly catching itself at about 200 - 400 rpm, then picking back up. It doesn't seem to matter whether lights or air con is on or off, and it does it worse when i press hard on teh accelerator and then let off completely.

It also doesn't idle very smoothly, altho the rpm gauge says its at around 800 rpm on warm idle, it still feels like it's a bit rough and vibrates a bit. Sometimes i find the idle hovers around aswell sometimes dropping then over revving a bit.

I've checked the air filter, and it's alittle bit dirty but not bad enough to cause this i'd have thought. I would like your help on what to look at as i dont want to pay the garage a fortune to not find anything - no engine light has come on as yet..

Someone i know said it may be worn spark leads, but rather than just replace them i thought i'd see if anyof you have the same prob.

Thanks in advance

Car's got 92'000m on it. it has a full service history, and it was toyota dealership servicing up till a year ago, and then was a private one.

Last service was at 90'000.

As for checking stuff, i thought i'd get a bit of input first. This may sound really really dumb, but it's hard to find the spark plugs, i just can't see them, i've only looked at night with poor lighting, but the 3sge hides them away somewhere. No really!

Same really for fuel pump, it would be quite a major job, so would like to check the easier to do stuff first..

Cheers for your help
