Hello everyone,
I have had problems with my Evaporation system, and my mechanic said he would need to replace the charcoal canister and the VSV Valve. I have a tech manual that I've been looking through and I've been searching on the web and found a good deal on the canister at toyota parts barn. I found another name for the charcoal canister, which is the vapor canister, and I'm thinking that the VSV Valve migh have another name. Or is the VSV valve included in the vapor canister? |

yeah its the one on the right with teh 2 hoses, you cant really see both of them cause they are on top of each other. do the above test to see if its working, you really dont need to change the charcoal canister that will be $$$

My mechanic said I needed to get both replaced though. Is it possible that the valve malfunctioning could do damage to the vapor canister? This car is at 145,000 miles. |
