Ok, I have 1997 Toyota Celica ST 1.8L limited edition. The car has 184XXX miles on it. The car is a automatic. Starting about three months ago the idle has become low when at running temp. When I'm in stop and go traffic for more then 20 mins I have to drive two footed or the car will die. When it does die it takes about 40 mins before it will start again. There are five codes that come up today when autozone read the codes. Those include: P0401, P0110, P1300, P0120, and P0401 again. The car has had a tune up in the past month(plugs, wires, rotor, cap, didn't get a new fuel filter). Had a oil change about 200 miles ago. I just don't know what is going on with this car. The throttle body has been all cleaned up also. any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks, Daniel aka Celica1997 |

there is a way to test your egr. let the engine idle, and apply vac to your egr valve(it has only one vac port) the engine should stall.
i was having an egr code, and autozone suggested my EGR valve. i did that test and found the valve was okay (saved a siht ton of $ and time on that...) it turned out to be the vacuum modulator (the thing next to the egr valve with 3 vac ports) i replaced that and the cel went away after a few days... the ignitor issue, though, worries me.... -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated.
