 shifter cable trouble, beams swap |

Very close to finishing my 3sge beams swap I hit another snag, I have two sets of shifter cables (manual), one fits the transmission but not the shifter, the other fits my shifter but not the trans, the shifter is the gt shifter and i thought the trans was the basic s series that could be found on a 5sfe, I'm thinking I might have to buy another shifter, but which one? my research points to the st shifter but I'm not positive, any help would be great, if pictures would help, say so, I'll try and get some tomorrow.

if i switch the cables they will fit the transmission but will not fit the shifter i tried those first and when they didnt fit the shifter i figured they were wrong, so I bought the new ones which fit the shifter and now i put the engine in and found that the new cables don't fit the trans
