How To Upgrade Your Stock 8" Woofers
-----------------------------------------------

The woofers are JL Audio 8W1V2-4 but any 8" (or 20cm) woofer will do.

Step 1: Once you've removed the woofers from the doors, you'll need to remove the 4 screws under the foam surround and pry off the old woofer.

Step 2: Then you'll need to cut the sides of the hole on the speaker adapter (shown above) to match the diameter of the magnet going on.

Note: You'll also need to cut about the same amount of metal on the doors for the woofer magnets to fit.

Step 3: Then you'll need to cut the 3 braces on each side depending on how deep the new woofers go.

Step 4: Then you tap new holes along the rim of the new woofers to match the existing anchors, and use the existing screws to mount the woofers.

Step 5: Just splice the old connector with the new speaker wire to connect to the new sub.

For best sound quality, do not use these with the factory stereo system.

Great write up, but isn't that a sub woofer and not a mid-bass woofer?
