Hello fellow 6GC'ers,
I tried searching for the answer to this, but I guess I either am the first person to ask this or I just suck at research. I have a 94 GT with a 3rd gen 3SGTE swap in it. I currently have my boost turned down to about 8lbs. Before I get into the problems I have, I just wanted to know if the 3S needs a fuel cut or not? Also, if it does, is it the 4 wire or 5 wire one? Please let me know as soon as you can. Ok, the reason why I have my boost turned down is because when I have the boost set to stock (14lbs), I get a sputtering, as if the car is struggling to pull whenever the boost hits a little less than 1 bar or higher. Please let me know if this could be because of not having a fuel cut installed or if it could be something else. I already put in new cap, rotor, plugs, wires because I thought it was my ignition system. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I also have a AFC Neo hooked up to the car as well if that changes anything. -Thanks, Ryan |

if its strugglin for power then there might be a boost leak, are you using the factory top mount IC or a front mount?

if its strugglin for power then there might be a boost leak, are you using the factory top mount IC or a front mount? Oh, ok. So I won't need a fuel cut right now, cause I'm only running 14lbs when the sputtering starts Neon90424. I'm using a sperco front mount intercooler. The piping was used before, so you may be right on the boost leak. I was already in the process of upgrading the charge piping anyways. But would that cause it to struggle for power only when it reaches about .75 bar. Before, I noticed it would struggle only around 5k, then I saw when it builds to about .75 bar is when it is struggling as well. So I don't exactly know if it's struggling when it hits .75 bar, or when it hits 5k. I'm daily driving it on .5 bar & if I punch it on .5 bar there's no problems. -Ryan |
