As the title suggests. i have 340km on my 7a. timing belt broke so i should probably replace my water pump while im in there since i have no idea when the last time it has been changed. good plan? the pump isnt leaking though. so should i go by the old sayin. if it aint broke dont fix it.?

For the amount of labour you're going to be paying for (or putting into it) - you might as well save yourself some dough, and time later down the road and do both at the same time. I think the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - doesn't apply to Timing Belt/Water pump maintenance. YES!!!! I wouldn't mess with the water pump yet if there hasn't been any problems with it. I replaced my timing belt this past December without doing the water pump and my motor (also a 7a) has about the same amount of mileage on it. (340,000km~211,000 miles; mine has ~214,000 on it) NO!!!!! -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
