I need to get advice on putting headers on my 95 GT. Never done this before, but guessing that it is a matter of just removing the old exhaust manifold , and reconnecting the new header up to the exhaust, and bolting it back in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can't drop a lot of cash, but would like to get the best quality I can for the money. Any suggestions on brand, and who to order from would really help too. Also need to know if I need to do a lot of work under the car, or can most be done right under the hood. Thanks in advance.

do a search, i wrote a review and install guide never mind, here it is http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...6&hl=header Just installed mine on Saturday, I must say it was a pain in the friggin neck. Every bolt was rusted on, 2 of the studs came out of the engine, on the bottom end I discovered 1 bolt that was already busted off, 1 that wouldn't budge (had to be cut off) and 1 that screwed off with little pressure. Then I find out that 2 of the 3 gaskets that I got with my header were slightly too small, and had to be bent a bit to get them to fit. My header is from Bonehead on ebay, surewin is out, and I cant' get a reply from him on when they will be back in (was supposed to be 3 weeks ago). Now that the header is on, I am pretty happy. Mainly I am happy that I succeeded and got it installed, I did not notice much gain (we will find out @ my next fillup if I got more mpg's). The sound is noticeable, and it seems like it is changing the more I drive it, maybe I will get a bit more gain as it "breaks in"? |
