 Dead Vechicle, Car Has No Power |

One day I was driving down the street and my car shuts off I get out look under the hood move the battery to the left and the car gets power again.The next day I try to leave home and the car shuts completely off again and this time when I turned one the radio it shut off faster. I have tried to replace the battery but still no go the Lights wont come on the car acts as if it has no battery at all. People tell me it could be the Alternator but its kind of wierd that it wouldnt even let the door lights come on. Ive checked all the fuses and everything looks good. So what do I do Please help (Cars been Rusting For 2 months now)

the old school battery disconnect while car is running does work on our cars. but if you are able to get the car started, the alt can produce power still. for example start the car, remove the battery while still on. this can show the alternator is still good. do a battery test. is your battery old or not charging correctly, then start looking at your wires. Fuses and stuff are something to look at as well.

I would still bet on it grounding out somewhere. i don't think you understood me, it wasn't about starting, it was about testing. after it starts, pull the terminals and see if the alternator takes over and keeps the car on. over time, if your alternator is not good, your battery will lose enough juice to even start up, thats why knowing your alternator is good is a big hint. pulling off the battery lets you know pretty good the alt is still good, but what someone was saying up there is that just for knowing you can remove the battery from the car and the alternator will run it, or if for example you got your last start from your battery, your alternator will keep it on until your next startup it won't if your battery is bad. you just have to understand what i wrote sometimes i suck at making sense
