i have stripped my damn axle nut and can't get it off...tried pb, wd40, breaker bar and now even an impact wrench at 345ft-lb and it still won't turn....it is on the passenger side and now with all those method, the nut is completely destroyed. im so at a lost right now...any ideas i can get this piece of crap off without having to cut the axle or mess up the threads on the axle spindle?

thank you for all those response...with it being in the front of the car, it's the hub that has the loop protruding outwards that makes it hard for me to get any room to hit it with. back to point A.
worst of the worst case scenarios, ill have to cut that axle and get a new axle, which im trying to avoid at all cost. just got this axle this summer. don't know if lifetime warranty will cover intentional sawing through the axle. This post has been edited by chacha: Oct 28, 2011 - 4:10 PM |
