I had my exhaust done recently when my secondary cat and the pipe attached broke and the pipe dropped while I was driving. I had all of the piping replaced with 2.5" from the bottom of the downpipe back with no secondary cat or resonator. I had them put a Magnaflow muffler on the back.

My inspection is coming up in a little over a month, and I'm wondering if this is going to cause problems for me. I don't have headers so I still have the primary Cat under the exhaust manifold. The guys at the exhaust shop said that it should be fine for emissions, but I'm wondering if the deletion of the second cat is going to make me automatically fail visual inspection.

Do any of you know anything about this? I live in NY.

NY doesn't do a sniffer test like CA, but we still have CA emissions cars. As long as your MIL is not on and there is no O2 sensor behind the second cat, you're fine. The pre-obdII CA emissions Celica's all had two cats like that too. I deleted my second.
