I'm 19 and new to the forums. I've had my car for ~3 years now andI want to get some more power out of the ol 1.8 but all the chips I've found seem to be no-name cheapos. Anyone have any chips they've used and had good luck with, or any other recommendations for getting any more power out of it? And also what are the prices roughly? I've got a 94 st 1.8, has headers and full exhaust 2.5 inch and an intake. Thanks for any help!

sorry, gt's are only 0.5 seconds faster i have one, thats why i swapped beams in it. even with a beams, it still looks like it needs more. you can reduce all weight you can, unless u put that 1.8 in a go kart, you wont have a 10 second car I've driven a 1.8 and then bought my 2.2... there is a pretty big "in the seat of your pants" difference between the two. Not to mention, it's super easy to burn rubber with a 5S-FE compared to the 7A. Best thing to do with an ST is enjoy the lightness. You have already changed your exhaust, so that's a step - although 2.5 might actually be too big for the 7A. Others more knowledgeable in that area should chime in. Lightweight wheels will help the thing feel quicker in every area that the dyno in your derrière can measure. I'd agree. 2" is the largest I'd ever put on a 1.8. You're going to lose all that low end torque. i agree. just turn that thing into a cornering beast LOL ![]() That's what these cars are best for. Suspension upgrades, urethane, and decent large wheels with lo-pro tires that grip well. That's the route I'm going and I can tell you, this thing feels great hitting a "suggested 35mph" corner at 70 ![]() -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles.
