Most people are non violent. Most people think that reason is enough to settle our issues on verbal field and not a physical one. Unfortunately when out of a million comes along a human being who solves his issues physically people try and apply reason to his method. You should read some of the comments posted defending the old guy. It is mind boggling.

My problem with reason mentality is that at best problems are solved with puny reimbursement and usually not in interest of those who were affected. Nobody has thousands of dollars just lying around to pay for damages they caused. Nobody has thousands of dollars just lying around to pay for damages received. I do not think it matters what age, sex, nationality, religion or mental stability attacker is. Attacker inadvertently impacted another human being both financially and emotionally and let alone inconvenienced the heck out of the victim.

I figure old guy wanted to spray paint some cars and get away with it. At best police would have charged him with some sort of misdemeanor and vandalism and sentenced him to 90 days of community service and put him on some sort of repayment plan. Neither of those options would have helped victims of his actions let alone taught the guy a lesson. During repayment he would have been filled with more hate potentially relieving his anger on someone else's property. Getting your ass kicked really bad changes your perspective on things. Sometimes that is the rational thing to do to another human being who stops being rational and goes off on a tangent.
