Whats up guys!! havent seen anyone in forever. I sold all my toys, celica, mr2, and the 4runner rotted to death. Time for a new car.
I need AWD. I was thinking about getting a Forester or outback and doing the STI swap to it. But my heart is with toyotas. If I can get an older celica shell and throw in a 3rd gen 3sgte slap a bigger turbo on it and, heres the kicker actually USE the power it makes, in an AWD setup, I'm down. I cant ever go back to FWD after the MR2 but the celica is such a nice car, even today its a great looking car and can be found cheap. I looked into Importing a gt4 from canada but they want a little to much money and can't guarantee it will even be able to be registered here. So yeah, getting to the point. has anyone really put the time into doing an AWD swap? Is it as easy as getting a front and rear gt4 clip and just swapping everything or is that impractical? Good to talk to you guys again. I hope Someone remembers me :X heres a refresher. ![]() If it can't be done reasonably still.. then I think I'll go with an mk3 supra. Toyota FTW. In NY I'm pretty sure you can import and register a GT4 from Canada. Toyota is smart and makes cars either California emissions or Fed & Canada. All the US really cares about is emissions and as long as it says Federal and Canada on the sticker under the hood, you should be good. (Unless you live in CA, which you don't).
Hell, I'd just cut the firewall where my chassis code is, take the vin plate and swap them over to the GT4. Weld back in the chassis code and make it seamless. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. Project car 1992 Toyota Celica GT 5S-FE 170k Miles.
