I wanted to confirm that the water and oil pumps ARE NOT interchangeable.

I know for a fact the water pump is interchangeable. I have the second gen water pump on my 3rd gen, runs just fine

I vaguely remember having to buy the 2nd gen water pump and use half of it with the other half of the 3rd gen water pump. Something like that.
