i have an 94 st 1.8. not sure anything else about the engine. i was wondering what would be the best swap for a engine. and would i want and/or need the tranny that goes with it? and if i do it myself, what would the price be roughly for some of you guys that have done it. i dont really understand the stuff that much, it would be me and my buddy who knows exactly what hes talking about doin all the work. maybe even if you care to, explain why what you choose would be better than others. im just trying to compare some to others to wiegh my options. and if theres any ideas about where to find them, like besides trying to wait around for someone i know around town to decide he would swap or i could buy theirs.

thanks for any help you guys give!

Then after that, you'll think you have it, but you'll have to read it again. Is this your only vehicle? What is your mechanical skill level? How much have you saved? When I swapped a 1.8T into my Cabrio (VW stuffs), I had my brother's (now mine) celica to drive whilst I was doing that. It took around 3months working through all the kinks and the wiring (but that was a standalone ecu and waiting on parts I forgot or didn't know I needed (and working a job))
Anyway, you can do it, you just have to learn how (READ)
