I've always used Castrol Syntec but I've heard the Castrol Magnatec was very good at preventing engine wear due to cold start, though I believe there is only part syntec magnatec, I've always prefered fully synthetic oils.
Any one recommands one of them or any other brand? I will use 10w40 btw. People seem to never be accurate when they talk about engine oil.. |

I've never had any problems with Mobil 1 5W- or 10W-40 in my MR2's 3S-GTE, but the debate on best oil runs long. I've heard "German" Castrol Syntec is probably one of the best, but it can be hard to find.

I've heard "German" Castrol Syntec is probably one of the best, but it can be hard to find. I've always ran on Castrol Syntec and never had any problems, thought they made one of the best oil. Always hesitated to go with either Mobil 1 or Castrol though and now that I've heard of Castrol Magnatec I'm even more confused though I'm not sure I like the fact that it's partly synthetic ![]() |
