I had always loved leather hood straps.
What are the opinions of it being on a 6gc? It would look best on a black one tz2  bmw hommage

No, only because the straps would be placed, per those pictures, at the non-latching end of a 6g. Not a good look. Now make the hood front-hinged, then you've got a good idea.
