Hey! I was just wandering how does everyone get their car washed? By hand or through the car wash? What kind of car wash soap do you use and how do you get your car waxed? Yourself? Or hired some one? By hand or power tools? What brands?

2 bucket method with a cobra supreme mf chinelle wash mit, duragloss 901, pinnacle xmt shampoo gel, or chemical guys citrus wash, then dried using some quality microfiber towels, a nice coat of collinite 845 applied using porter cable on a red lake country 5.5" pad, tires dressed with optimum opti-bond, wheels protected with wolfgang deepgloss paint sealant, wheel wells protected with any old cheap tire foam then wiped down. after every wash i apply a quick spray wax using either xmt360 spray wax or optimum car wax. all seams spaces, anything where dirt collects gets done with a swissvax brush while washing, if i need a quick polish i will use meguiars m205 on DA or rotary using white LC pads, then apply collinite 845 or wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant(what i have on now). i refuse to go to a car wash now, good to see some 6gc members using high quality products and methods to wash and keep their paint up, a swirl free car is a happy car!. if you really have the time and effort read on autogeekonline.net forums can learn alot just dont fall into autogeeks marketing scheme's
quick edit, just because a product smells good dont mean it works good, look at iron-x or collinite, iron-x is horrible smelling but is a needed paint decontamination step especially for white cars.(i left this out above as that should be a given to do with your twice a year polish) and collinite 845 smells like solvents with a slight waxy smell but works so good i could care less about the smell...as i say dont fall into marketing hype. and any car can look freshly polished and cleaned/swirl free if taken in certain lighting conditions and angles, so until you do a full sun look over using numerous viewing angles you cant tell if a car is swirl free.
