What are these 2 hoses and what are they supposed to connect to? IIRC my mechanic plugged them to bring my idle back to normal, but now its idling at 1600 rpm.

Yes you need to trace them to their source, make sure the bolts/plugs are actually holding vacuum, and find out what he disconnected them from and whether they are plugged as well.
Disconnecting anything in the vacuum system and capping it off is rigging it and a temporary fix. I would expect to see things duct-taped together and held in with only half the mixmatched bolts with that level of mechanic skill. Any idea as to what he was trying to fix when he did this and why he chose such a cheap fix? |
