does anyone know how to adjust the idle on the 2.2 celica? my idle sits right above 1k rmp and i want to drop it a little without retarding my timing. i was looking to see if there was some kind of adjusting screw like most cars, but i didnt see anything. can anyone help me out? thanks!

thanks guys for the help, i got my car to idle at 800 rpm. i adjusted the screw that gets pushed by the diaphragm on the throttle. Hold it! The screw that gets pushed by the diaphram or the one next to it? The diaphram shouldnt be holding the throttle open at an idle, it should only open the throttle if the engine is stalling or being started. The IAC is what opens/closes the throttle to maintain idle and it is inside the throttlebody. The diaphram only opens if theres a LACK of vacuum, you probably have it hooked up to the wrong port on the throttlebody, or you have a leak in the diaphram or hose running to it This post has been edited by Special_Edy: May 1, 2012 - 4:44 PM |
