I have been searching for days but can't find any forged pistons that are designed for the 5sfe block and the 5sfe head. Everything available is for the 5sfe block and 3sgte head, or to work with 3sgte rods. Do they have to be custom made? or is there a supplier that I haven't found yet?
PS I am going to be turboing the 5sfe. Thanks *EDIT* They need to be stock size. I don't want to bore it, just a quick hone upon installation This post has been edited by UVZ164: May 9, 2012 - 11:43 PM |

It all depends on your tuning solution.
Stock pistons can hold 300hp easily with a GOOD, SAFE tune. (This implies NECESSARILY an EMS) Otherwise, contact atomicspeedware.com They can make you forged pistons for the 5sfe to use with 5sfe rods, or 3s-gte rods. DO buy the TotalSeal rings they offer with their piston kit... that way you won't have to worry about cracked ringlands nor excessive blowby. Those rings are made to withstand heat to a point where they expand minimally and don't score your cylinder walls nor crack your ringlands. I think they make 9.0:1 pistons for the 5s-fe. The stock rods are good up to a lot of extra power. They're bigger than most stock rods. Just make sure you modify them to fit 3s-gte ARP rod bolts. That is their only weakness, the rod bolts. Good luck! Glad to know there's somebody else doing the same as I am! -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold
