I had to change the engine in my 95 ST, so i bought a 7A-fe from a junkyard with 30,000 miles from a 97 corolla. The thing is, the mechanic told me that the trans isnt lining up (my ST is manual) and there is a crank sensor or something that might be a problem. Will this engine fit? If not, what mods will be required to make it fit??

you might need to switch your intake madifold to make this work.. one of my buddies had to do that on a d16 swap in his civic.. he blew up his motor and replaced it with a new d16 but it was an auto instead of a manual and he had all kinds of problems gettin it to run with the ecu.. eventually he just had to take everything from his old d16 that still worked and put it on the new block and that fixed about 90% of his probs
Not sure if the 7a is the same way but it might be a possiblity.. I really think you should take back the motor and try and get one out of the same year celica -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
