Lately, I've been noticing an odd, whistling noise when I accelerate. Only from a cold start and it's more prominent in the lower gears (I'm accelerating normally, I'm not hauling ass). It always seems to die down when I shift gears and it starts to pick back up when I continue to accelerate. Any ideas, guys?

if your p/s pump was bad, you'd hear it all the time even parked but if anything more louder when you turn. if it were the pulleys or bearings are a little bit more distinguishable and since those pulleys move all the time as long as the motors running you would be able to tell easily cus you could just stand in front of the car and listen to it. in your case, you described it basically everytime you pressed the clutch when you shifted and cold start.
the only thing else i could tell you is maybe you have a bad ground wire for sounds, cus that follows acceleration also. did you work on anything electrical? This post has been edited by trdproven: Jun 5, 2012 - 8:14 PM -------------------- 94 Celica GT
