the car started making aclicking sound when i started it so i immediatly thought the starter was going bad. I checked the plugs and wires as well...both good. i pulled the starter and had it checked voltage is good, but the teeth on the gear is a little worn. the flywheel is worn a bit too. I dont know if i need to change both the starter and flywheel...or if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
ps this is what the computer at advance said...1 flywheel tooth damage or wear. 2 tooth engagement depth/shimming. |

i would replace both at this point. if you replace the flywheel and not the starter, the worn teeth will damage the new flywheel teeth. what engine is this? if its a 5S-FE, i suggest a new clutch and fidanza flywheel. the car responds much better with the lighter flywheel
