Hello all, I recently got an ST205 clip for a swap this winter and obviously need a new tranny. My question: As someone who isn't going to be on a track, is LSD worth it? I don't plan on racing but will I still feel the power or is it worth the time it takes to try to hunt one of these E153 LSD tranny's down?
Thanks. |

Don't bother with the E154F. It's too much work and I've read that it doesn't work, though I haven't thoroughly researched the topic and have no firsthand experience.
As for the LSD, I was lucky enough to get factory LSD with my BEAMS swap. Now that I have it, I find the $500 MR-S LSD's that fit the S54 trans to be completely worth it. I really don't want another Celica without it. I can't speak for torque steer, but I know the car pulls itself through a corner much better now than it used to. Not just "a little bit better," but quite a bit better. I can't speak for the E153 with LSD either, just that those that choose to go high HP on their 3S swaps seem to prefer the longer gearing. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates.
