Ok someone please help me I'm at a loss here. Pretty much every time I start my car it makes a rattling noise, also when I get up to about 3000rpm it makes the same noise until I shift or left off the gas and let the R's go down a bit. Anyone else have or had this problem and know what it might be? I pulled the valve cover to see if my valves are adjustable...they are not. I have the 1.8L 7AFE motor. Please anything would be appreciated. I have to get this motor to last at leaset until tax time so I can get my 3SGTE...

the noise, is it coming from the top of the engine (the head) or from the lower block? Mine make noise from the block cause it has a bad rod bearing in it.

That's not a bad idea at all! There are some nice horsepower numbers in the forced induction dyno sticky on oem boosted 5sfe's! There is a little bit of work you have to do to fit an S series engine into a A series car but it has been done before and you can also find that on here in the stickys! I am rebuilding a 5s as of right now and also thinking of boosting it when I get some miles on the fresh engine -------------------- 1994 ST204- 5sfe Currently being rebuilt 1994 AT200-Awaiting Build |

It will drop right in your car... They are cheap... And you get alot more power then what your 7afe has now! You just wont have as much fun as you will have with the 5sfe boosted setup!
