I am wanting to have built a custom engine for my celica but I am not sure how to go about it. I saw one that a guy had machined, every thing was custom and it was just sick(400hp without turbo or NOS) I want something similar but like I said I don't where to start or the cost, can anyone help???

i would say the first thing would be to start saving for a custom stroker kit with custom pistons on custom rods, have everything lightened and balanced, custom grind on the cam shaft, port and polish head with performance valve train. ignition booster, wires, coil, fuel pump, injectors, header, full exhaust, stand alone ems, clutch, flywheel... anything lightweight you can get your hands on, get rid of your a/c and that should give you a pretty good bump in power. i can only guess that this kind of setup with the proper tuning could make 200whp+ and cost around $10,000 to $15,000. that is just my guess, it would be sweet to see but that is a lot of money, and i think i was being generous with the price. good luck though
that is the problem with our cars, if we want to do anything with our stock engines we have to be prepared to have damn near everything custom made or machined beyond recognition. This post has been edited by DustyBurns30: Feb 23, 2004 - 1:35 AM |
