I am wanting to have built a custom engine for my celica but I am not sure how to go about it. I saw one that a guy had machined, every thing was custom and it was just sick(400hp without turbo or NOS) I want something similar but like I said I don't where to start or the cost, can anyone help???

the most powerful A series n\a engine I've seen is the TRD formula 4age's. They run about 240hp I think. How did they do it? COMPRESSION

They actually have fairly modest compression levels... I read somewhere about being in the 10-11 range... but I can't say for sure. What actually makes the power... revving. They basically have a fairly modified 4AG head (larger valves, stiffer springs, better ports), built internals (lighter stronger rods, crank, bearings), and very very crazy cams. Add that to their professionally tuned fuel system and ECU... then you got a killer n/a engine. It's actually possible to build one yourself, if you have the money for the parts, but most people don't have the 10-20k or so extra dollars to actually build a real Formula A 4AG... now... with that, there's also the TRD Group A 4AG. It's the engine Takumi has in his hachi roku. It's something along the lines of 255 hp at 11,000 rpms... 20V head... etc, etc...
