So next summer it'll be time for some new rotors since mine are getting old and I'm replacing most of the braking system. Right now I have drilled and slotted rotors on the car, but I'm not sure where they came from since the previous owner put them on. I don't know how it feels to have plain rotors on the car, but I'd rather have cross drilled or drilled and slotted on the car. I've heard of a few places such KVR Performance Brakes, iRotor (which I've heard mixed reviews), Powerstop, and then there is the stuff off ebay. I want to know what you guys would recommend as far as rotors go.
P.S. I don't want to hear any crap about why you don't need cross drilled or drilled and slotted. It's my preference, if you don't like it, don't say anything about it. This post has been edited by mkernz22: Aug 30, 2012 - 1:55 PM |

It's my preference, if you don't like it, don't say anything about it. for the most part, they assist with braking. There are so many ways to improve braking, bigger piston from a bigger compatible caliper, more pistons such as bbk or st205 calipers, bigger brake pad with a bigger caliper, bigger rotor with matching caliper, slotted/drilled/cross dilled rotors, brake lines, brake pads, etc. i think theres even brake master dampers for some cars but not ours but i heard theres one brand that fits ours, i dont recall. I would go for the name brand rotors but that takes a hit to the wallet. theres no other way. But in terms of even ebay rotors which I bought for my friend, cus of money constraints, he never complained, but then again he never had it long enough to notice brake pad wear, warps, or wtvr. you can get brembo blanks or the low end model rotors from big brand names that have OEM sizes if there are any. -------------------- 94 Celica GT

I'm going with the Power Stop ones off of RockAuto. If not those, then the cross drilled ones from KVR. I've heard a lot of good stuff about KVR from s13 & s14 guys, as well as some other car people. But the RockAuto's are my first pick since I want the drilled and slotted. |
