Hello,

I've been away from the site for a while, being busy with work & school, but I'm back with some more questions for you all. I recently bought a 93 non-turbo MR2 transmission to put into my 94 GT & was hoping if anyone had the how-to on changing the shift linkage? I believe I saw it on here a while back, but I've searched & searched, but no luck. If I'm not mistaken, the non-turbo transmission from the MR2 is the same exact tranny from our 5SFE's, except for the shift linkage. I saw some threads about the e153 LSD transmission, but they didn't go into detail about reversing the shift linkage, they were talking mostly about the axles & what not. If anyone has any info on this, it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get this done as soon as possible, as my car is sitting on the lift right now waiting for the next tranny.

-Thank you for your time, Ryan

EDIT: Just clarifying that it's the NON TURBO, NON LSD transmission I bought.

Okay take everything I say with a grain of salt, but with the 153E the shifter linkage is backwards on the MR2. Obviously because its mid engined rwd instead of front engine fwd the shifter linkage is coming at the tranny from the opposite direction. So I believe on the 153E you must machine down the case to accept FWD linkage. I would assume the S54 would be a similar but situation thats your risk. There might be a combination of longer cables that would work as well but having never done the swap Im only going on what Ive read.
