Can you tell is there big difference between JDM projectors and non-JDM (original? What you would call those Projector headlights house HID lights which generally have higher light output than halogen bulbs. Many people use HID's in non-projector lights which is dangerous and usually illegal. Also projector put out solid light with a cut-off, where as a non-projector slightly scatter the light.
