Hey all, I just finished up building my 5sfte setup after about a year and a half of researching and buying parts, and with alot of help from info on this site. Especially pressure2's build and really all who have answered questions regarding this motor. Thanks to all by the way, this is a great forum, very helpful. So I had everything ready to prime the turbo with oil, removed the iginition and fuel fuses and turned the motor over for quite a while but no oil pressure at all. I made sure the timing belt was installed correctly, (I had it off to replace the head gasket) so in know its turning the pump, idk if i need to prime the pump somehow first? Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated, im so close I can taste it lol....

Double check to see if you tighten the pickup tube and its not leaking. Other causes would be a bad oil pump and that is a PITA to work on.

Ok Ill ckeck that those are tight when take the oil pan back off. I was thinking about it and I changed oil pans to a moroso hi capacity pan, when I put it on it looked like it left enough room for the pickup to draw oil but maby thats whats giving me problems. Has anyone else used that pan and had suscess? It said it was for the 3sgte and 5sfe motors. And yeah it looks like a PITA to work on, Im hoping changing oil pans back will fix the problem and I dont have to take the pump out lol. |
