Here's my list: (They're for a 5S-FE)

Bearings:
1. ACL Race 3S-GTE Main Bearings
2. ACL Race 3S-GTE Rod Bearings (using 3S Stock Rods)
3. King Bearings 5S-FE thrust washer (not sure if 3S-GTE one will fit)

Pistons/Rods:
1. CP 8.5:1 Pistons 87.5mm [+.020"] (trying to find a 9.0:1 set, if not I'll have to deck the head to bump up the compression)
2. Included Ring set and pins from CP
3. OEM 3S-GTE rods with ARP 22R/3S-GTE Rod bolts

Gaskets/Seals/Head Stuff:
1. OEM 98+ MLS Headgasket
2. OEM 98+ Oil Pump (will most likely shim it 1.5mm)
3. Will reuse brand new water pump
4. Gen 2 3S-GTE ATS Thermostat (170 deg)
5. ARP Head Studs (www.raceeng.com seems to sell a set specific for the 5S. I was told the 3S set would fit but the two studs below the internal cam drive gears had to be ground down to clear the gears)

What else am I missing? Which seals, etc.?

the 5S head is taller than the 3S so you need to find an off the shelf stud for another application.

i get some parts from here http://www.toyotapartseast.com/

www.raceeng.com has a set for the 5s. The 3S ones fit just fine, it's just that two of them have to be modified or you have to find another stud that clears the gears. I'll buy the set from raceeng, so we'll see if they speak the truth.

86.5mm is .020, 87.5 is too big.

I quote the first post:

87.5 is .020" for the 5S-FE.

i have never had an issue with wiseco pistons, all my big HP engines have them. slap is caused by improper cylinder wall clearance.

Could be that JE uses different rings in a 3S-GTE application (i.e. better rings) vs CP and Wiseco. Not all engines are the same after all. I've read many things about piston slap being due to too much clearance to the cylinder wall, too, though.
