My husband was driving the celica home from work this morning and the engine finally gave out. Been having the probable clattering rod knock type noise since we got it 5 months ago, but he said it got louder on the freeway about 6 miles from our house, then about 1 mile from the house it blew a big puff of smoke, dumped a bunch of oil and died.
So we were planning on a rebuild anyways, but I'm not totally sure if it has thrown a rod or not. Almost sounds like something else...but I suppose we won't know until it gets torn down. -------------------- 2004 Celica GT-2zz w/6-speed swap

Edy duct tape is my other husband! Ok, not really, but it definitely can fix stuff better then he can... haha!
And yes, I'm pretty sure Jeff is right...... that's what I've been waiting for each day. At least it didn't happen on my birthday, but close enough  Guess I know where all my bday money is going!
