It's a butterfly valve to bypass the majority of the exhaust for more power when he chooses, when he gets the 3S swapped in.

So, electronically controlled, you can let more exhaust flow for more power? -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

So, electronically controlled, you can let more exhaust flow for more power? Yep, basically you put it before anything ideally (cats, resonators, mufflers) to simulate an open downpipe. You can also do it with a throttle body. My previous Celica had it done with a 60mm TB on 2.25" exhaust tubing. The difference is it's manual vs electronic. I plan on doing it again to my actual Celica, and it'll be manual again. There's no motor that can go bad that way. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

Would that not cause a decrease in back pressure on a n/a, resulting in a loss of power?
