Pioneer AVH-2400BT with a Pioneer satellite adapter under driver's seat (not shown):
![]() Plays video from flash drive, and gets rid of my CD collection. I used a relay to bypass the parking brake, but don't watch video while driving. My wife watches video from the passenger seat, however...LOL! I looked at a bunch of HU's, and Crutchfield had this one on sale for $300. The bluetooth screen offers plenty of options, and the Crutchfield supplied adapter had me plugged into the factory amp in no time. The adapter runs RCA plugs into the HU for all speakers, so I only had to make 4-5 wire connections. I don't know if the '97 Celica GT has a dimmer feature for the stock stereo, but the Pioneer gets awfully bright at night. It's easy to turn the brightness down, but it would be nice to have it done automatically. This post has been edited by FrankB2: Nov 19, 2012 - 2:05 PM |

Forget the HU....The 350Z is a NICE car!
I called Crutchfield, and they emailed a wiring diagram for the illumination wire I need to tap into. The tech said aftermarket HU's don't work well the factory stereo's dimmer wiring, and they're meant to use a wire that simply gets power when the headlights are turned on. How that differs from the dimmer I do not know........ Here's a link to the wiring diagram. It's supposed the be the yellow wire in the number 2 position. http://crutchfield.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7448 |
