Hello guys i need your opinion i found on ebay one company who make modifield engines for toyota celica st205

why sleeve the engine? its an iron block. you can make 500HP without sleeves

The coolant flash boils, the cylinder gets really hot in that one spot, then the coolant condenses and quenches it suddenly. After many cycles it can crack. Sleeves are made from steel, not iron, and are much more resistant to this. Probably just insurance on their part.
