hey all... never messed with a vert before, what would be the way to fix the top not going down automatically, and having to do it manually?

I installed two satellite receivers* in my '97 Celica convertible, and both times accidentally bumped the manual switch in the trunk. I didn't feel it either time, and it's easy to check. There's a little hatch in the trunk on the side that faces the back seat, and the switch is in there. Worth a try....
