Hi,
I have a 1995 celica GT conv. Six month sago I had the timing belt and tan belts replaced. Now that it is cold the belts screach and squeal when I first start it up. AFter it warms up it stops.. I am guessing a loose belt. How do you tighten the belts on this car? Any help would be appreciated... |

Fan belt?
The alternator is held in place by three bolts. First loosen the one by the head/valve cover. Next, there is a bolt on the front side (closest to you) that is horizontal. Loosen that one as well. Leave all bolts in, but loose, as you don't want the alternator flopping about. Lastly, the vertical bolt on the front adjusts the belt tension. This is the one that you want to turn clockwise to tighten the belt. Make sure you lock everything back down after you're done. It's a reverse process to finish up. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. Project car 1992 Toyota Celica GT 5S-FE 170k Miles.
