so i bought a celica and need to ship it from New Jersey to Florida. ive talk to a few companies and the prices are a bit high. i would like to pay no more than $500 for the service. i was thinking to fly from florida to new jersey and drive it back but at the end i might spending more money because the car has no tag and insuranse. that means that i would need to trasfer my tag and insuranse to that celica, pay for tolls and gas, car gives around 28mph per gallon (about 1200 miles/18 hours of drive) and pay to flight there about $140
so i dont know whats more convienent. someone kwos a company with low rates? -------------------- ![]() |

Here in texas you can call your insurance company and get temporary insurance free of charge(with at least two different companies I know of), and it doesnt have to be tagged during this maiden voyage so long as you carry proof of your insurance policy for your other car and the bill of sale.
It may be something like 1 week grace period on the registration but so long as you are driving it straight home. List the states you will be traveling through and I can try to pull up the individual statutes that way you have something concrete and not a bunch of opinions. You should also try calling your insurance agent and explaining the situation to them. If you present the situation as 'do me this favor so you will get my business insuring the car once its home and mine', they will be more likely to see it as a win-win. You are after all going to be in the market for insurance on another car once it gets home. |
