I was reading up on the black box that Ripp Mods has that comes with their SC system. Its seems to come preprogrammed for boost and seems to work very reliably in controlling their fuel and timing concerns. I was wondering if I was to put together a custom turbo system and use their black box, would this not eliminate the need for a MSD 6a and a SAFC? An MSD and SAFC together will cost $650, whereas the Ripp Mods Black box cant cost more than $400 by itself. I don’t know if they sell the black box separately, but its just a thought.

dont worry, i know where you are coming from. I read all the same posts by the people who want to slap together a cheap (i.e. $700) turbo system and call it done. But by no means am i one of those people. Only after 2 years of looking at all my options and researching everything i can on this subject do i think i am even ready to start this project.

As pertaining to this post, i was just exploring the options of the RIpp Mods black box to control timing and fuel. Perhaps saying that it might be cheaper gave the wrong impression. But i still stand by the statement that everyone does want to save moeny on their projects. This is why we all search on ebay for our stuff instead of buying new or why we set up group buys.
