So I was talking to this mechanic about really sooping up my engine itself. I was talking about stronger internal components, also boaring my block as well. The whole 9 yards. Now I know there are very few aftermarket parts for the 7afe, and virtually no upgraded engine internal parts. Soooo, I thought about switching out some performance parts w the corrolla . I know the corrolla has a 7afe. I also know they have a legendary 86 model, (ae86). Does anyone know of any switchable parts that I could use. Maybe find some lighter weight flywheel in corrolla trani. I Havnt looked Into corrolla parts so if anyone knows any I could use please tell me.

If all else fails w the corrolla parts . I plan on forging my bottom end , but don't know who could do that for me . I know the 7a rods are really weak and I actually got thus idea reading a post on a dif Celi site . I also know you need to change your stock ecu when you change major engine components like pistons or cams. The compression rate will fur sure b dif. I read some posts on here and was thinking of buying this ecu called squirt I think it was . If anyone knows a good am ecu, hmu.

The biggest problem with the 7A-FE and 5S-FE is the cylinder head.
Probably everyone who comments on this thread will suggest for you to swap in a 3S-GTE or a 1MZ-FE.
You would probably have to spend thousands upon thousands to make a 7A-FE reliably see the kind of figures that come out of a stock 1MZ or 3SGTE, short of strapping a massive turbo and shot of nitrous on it. And it will never have to torque.
You can buy a totalled ES-300, Camry, Sienna(yes the minivan) Avalon or Solara for $500-$1000, take the engine, harness and ecu out and sell the shell to a scrap yard for $200(they even tow it away, but you could probably part it out for more $$$s)
Invest another $500-$1500 on some small parts here and there, the motormounts, a 5 speed transmission, exhaust, shifter cables and what not and you are on the road with a 3L V6 making over 200 HP with monstrous torque.
You can buy a 3SGTE swap kit for around $2,000. once again you will need a transmission from a GT or an E153 from a solora or camry, but for maybe 3 grand you could be driving down the road making ~250hp with a totally reliable, stock 6GC engine.

Anyways, yes you can invest the money and hotrod your 7afe, but all it is ever going to do is disappoint you. Those of us that have the bigger 2.2L 5SFE in the GT dont even bother souping up the 5sfe, its absolutely a waste of money to invest in it and expect any kind of reasonable returns. The best bang for your buck is going to be the awesome 1MZ-FE, followed by the amazing 3S-GTE. If you wanted to do something original you could even swap in a 3.5L 2GR-FE, its in the 2006 and newer toyota's and Lotus's, plus it should bolt in similar to the 1mz, 3sgte and 5sfe. So for about the price of a 3S-GTE you could have a 3.5L Lotus V6 engine, got you thinking yet?
Check out the Stickies, also Smaay and Kurt95GT among others have detailed their 1MZ swaps in the My Projects section of the forums. Definately an easy place to waste a few hours of your time reading.

I've actually found a ****load of aftermarket parts for the 5s. What is it that makes the 5s ****? I actually beat stock 5s on the freeway, before my headers and thick ass ignition wires .
