Hey all, at the end of the summer I plan to buy all my turbo parts, and hopefully have it all working before Christmas. I'm going to be doing a dual exhaust with turbo- it's really more of a personal style thing than any functional gain from it. I LIKE the look of it- so why the heck not?
![]() Of course, I don't have the exhaust piping yet- but I was wondering. Should I now, buy one of the mufflers I plan to get and install it on the car? After the dual point, it's going to be 2.5 inch piping on the new exhaust (3" to the dual point) so I know thats not too big- and since I'm not expanding my stock piping, will it result in the loss of low end torque? I don't care if it doesn't GAIN me anything- basically I want to see how the muffler looks on the car and how it sounds (although I understand the sound will change when I turbo). I figure do this before I buy 2 mufflers- and possibly not like the sound. So basically I want to: buy one muffler, install now. test. see how it looks/sound. if I like, order a second muffler. When the turbo is installed, have custom exhaust put on, use the one slightly used muffler and a brand new muffler to be the two mufflers. Is this a BAD idea? or no harm done? |
