ok for my 1992 taurus SHO to pass inspection mr tire had to weld a hole shut after the y pipe (its dual exhaust) up front, well it passed and everything, but now like a month later the entire pipe is broken and it fell off.

so my mom calls them and says look we just paid all this money do you guaruntee your work or anything cause this is bull

the manager says well take a look at it and yes we do guaruntee our work

today i get a call saying "yeah its all fixed, cost should be under 100$" i say "ok" because i was kind of dumbfounded and all.

tomorrow i plan on going to pick it up... i feel i have to cases in which i should not have to pay.

first off, the work should be guarunteed and fixed for free

second off even if something NOT covered by their "warranty" is wrong, they should have let me know about it, the estimate, and ask for my go ahead.. they didnt, isnt this some kind of mechanic law?

i dont know, i mean i am 100% honest, i have no money, my mom has no money, i never authorized them to do work which i would have to pay for and they never asked for my go ahead, i dropped the car off to see what needed to be done, and i was under the impression it would be done for free..

are my options correct? do i have a leg to stand on? any other experiences like this?

i really dont wanna be a dick because when i had my work for inspection done with them, they gave me some good deals, and kind of let some things slide for inspection, but work is work, and i feel i have been kind of jipped here.

i would have understood if they said "our weld held up man, this is a whole new problem is gonna cost x amount of dollars" but they didnt they just automatically fixed it

thanks for your insight
