What to do?? Alarm and such Options

Ok, so Awhile ago I took my old alarm out of my wrecked BMW and insatlled it into my celi. The prolbem was the screen was broken on the remote. Its a matrix RS3 two way alarm. Sence then i got a new remote for christmas, and i programed it to work. But sence then the remote has been acting very odd.. like it eats threw betteries and always resets it self ans such. Today it wouldnt weven work with a new batt. I called DEI to try and see what i could do about replacing it, but sence my brother bought it new off e-bay, its not an athorized dealer, they wont warenty it.. A bunch of BS I think. Also I need to get my remote start finished or working.

Should IO try and spend money I dont have to get a new remote or a new alarm? or what. I dont nor want to spend another $120 for an remote and have the remote start fixed, But I also dont want my $3000 worth of stero and my others i leave in the car stolen, seeing as how easy these cars are to break into.

Im pissed and confused.
