 which way does the wheel go? |

if i have a 6" wide rim with +40mm offset and put on a 7" wide rim with +40mm offset, will the wheel be 1" further out from the car, 1" further in on the inside, or .5" both ways. its hard to word, but where would that extra 1" of width go?
