photoshoot no good?, are they that bad? Options

So this is my 2nd year into taking pictures. I use a sony P2, an old 2 mega pix point-and-shoot camera for grandparents to use.

well any who, i went to take pictures with my friend who has a FD. Took quite a few pictures and went home to look at them on the computer. I saw that its not that bad with a camera that doesn't even have shutter priority or in matter of fact, no manual controls. My rx7 friend and I like the pictures but there is this one kid that says the pictures are horrible and not worth showing to other people. Whats the matter with him?

He can't even give me reasons why they are horrible (he doesn't know how hard photo taking is! ) He just says, "they suck". I wanted to jack him in the face at that moment but instead, I wanted some honest feedbacks from you guys.

I do realize i have a different style in my photos. like, i like the pictures to be dark (maybe under exposed?) and show a lot of shadows. Maybe he didn't like that? I just want to get better at taking photos. So tell me what I should fix and what you like please. I want some honest feedbacks from people who knows what they are talking about.
