Some of you more cautious buyers wouldn't touch these turbos just out of sheer fear that they are trash... some other buyers may be attracted to the price and may decide that it's worth the gamble.
I decided it was worth the gamble. Unfortunately this is one game of russian roullette i didn't win.. Ah well. The turbo in specific is the knock off GT28RS (which btw is in actual fact a copy of a GT28R). Most people have the bearings go out pretty damn fast.. I was lucky in the fact that they lasted for about 2 months roughly.. of not very hard use.. the past few days i was beating on the turbo harder and they went. The shaft now turns in an oval fashion lol. Anyway.. do not buy any of these knock off turbos they are all trash. I sent an email to SSAUTOASS about it since they told me through email that the turbo has a 1yr warranty.. this was days ago .. no response if I don't hear back after christmas I will just call my CC company and paypal and get my cash back.. which is what I really want since I already bought and installed a REAL garrett GT2871R. According to a guy over on HMT.com the turbos are made in France... and here I cursed china. Here is the GT2871R setup.. http://tekphobia.com/Alltrac/gt2871.JPG This post has been edited by Punisher: Dec 24, 2006 - 4:12 PM -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Future engine swap... possibly a 2jzge.
