Ditched the riser blocks for the standard two post spoiler. I think I like it better this way. Its more subtle.

thumbsup.gif

my 0.02 but the riser blocks are 90s your car looks better this way. but im going spoilerles very soon.

Yeah the gt4 spoiler is great to complete that whole gt4 look, but this just fits the car better. Keep in mind that my car originally came with a 3 post spoiler, so I had no idea it would look this good with just the 2 post.

It looks good, I have been spoilerless for almost a year now.

Found an 83 280ZX. Maybe... I prefer the 280Z looks wise, but if this one checks out ok may just get it. Though I don't know what I'd do with two cars...

Discovered what the noise was on the drivers side after all the recent work I've done.

Of course, its the only thing I did not do...the wheel bearing.

You mean these Caldina rims? tongue.gif

Crappy iPhone picture at work. The respray is coming, all in good time. It'll be like a whole different car. smile.gif

Yes, those ones -.- ... tongue.gif

I have come to the conclusion that I would never be satisfied with them though, because all the pictures I keep ogling with them are black and lowered, with spacers... And I have none of that tongue.gif I'm half afraid that they will just get lost with the silver paint, and it'll look monster trucking since I currently have no plans to lower the car. So, they have been pushed to the back of the mod list, but have certainly not been forgotten wink.gif

Can't wait to see some proper pics + new paint... Will look stunning!

I'm not lowered, so they aren't totally monster truck looking. I don't think they'd get lost in the silver paint. They are very clean looking rims. I don't think njccmd had spacers when he had them, but I'm not positive. I think they'll look good on your car but I'm biased.

Oh okay, I thought you had TRD lowering springs or something? Anyway... tongue.gif

They are amazing rims; I am really shocked that nobody else on 6GC has used them yet. I'm sure that one day I will have a set; I am just prioritizing spats + projectors at the moment wink.gif

May I ask what tyres you are running? I went from the 205/55/15 to 205/50/16 recently and am a bit concerned if I go to the 215/40/17 which are the closest rolling diameter in the 215 (which I thought I may as well go to if I went 17, to get that bit of extra traction), then the ride would be a bit harsh. I was thinking about 215/45/17, which is probably the most common size for the sports tyres, and gives a more decent sidewall, but that makes the diameter 3.10% out. I can live with the speedo reading 3% over (it reads 2% under now anyway), but would there be any performance degradation because of this? I just have a stock 5S-FE.

Btw, I have been looking and I know somebody that can get them straight out of Japan for me, but it would be about $400 after shipping, plus tyres... Which isn't much in the wheel world, but I just bought 16" GTS alloys and I'm buying heaps of other stuff, so I'll PROBABLY hold off for a little while.

If you can't tell by now, I'm more than a little undecided tongue.gif

Meh they're too big for my tastes, I'm good with 16's. Personally I like the GT-S wheels more. The heavier the wheel, the more of an impact on performance you'll have. Especially on lower power vehicles, Richee and Njccmd have the BEAMS in their cars so it's not as big of an impact.

Nope, Njccmd has TRD spring and I don't think he had spacers. I have spacers but at stock height. I have 215/45/17's and believe it or not, checking with a GPS my speedo is more accurate than with the stock rims. I'd totally pay $400 for these rims, they look much better in person than in pictures.

This is true, although the Caldina rims are barely any heavier than the GT-S rims. The BEAMS only has 9 lb ft of torque over the 5S, so the difference is minimal, but the stock rims are definitely easier to turn.

Back on topic, today I dropped the Celica off in a strange place.

From the looks you'd think the Caldina rims would be a good bit heavier, they look chunky when compared to the GT-S. I like how they look though, just not with a thin sidewall. tongue.gif

Here we go again with the pictures... I can't take it any more :'(

Well I think I am decided now - I WILL be getting some. I totally thought you had some drop going on, makes it look even better knowing that it can look that good stock height smile.gif Next step is just the timing, I am currently a uni student and I'm actually in the process of planning a 6 month overseas exchange to go to Germany for the first half of next year. This will both mean that I will be away from my Celica and it will probably cost me about $10k... Which I don't have yet, so I'll need to stop spending money on my car at some point tongue.gif

Back on topic for me too; today I have tentatively arranged the purchase of some euro front splitters (pending shipping quotes) and yesterday my TRD rear spats were shipped from Japan smile.gif
